Q. I do not currently do any form of exercise...can I do yoga?
A. Anyone can do yoga. The important thing is to honor where you are with
your ability, flexibility, and endurance, and to be patient with yourself.
Move slowly into the postures, and always come out when your body tells you
it is time.
Q. What do I wear to class?
A. Something you can comfortably stretch in. We prefer you do not wear baggy
pants, as it is difficult to check correct leg alignment, but stretch
tights, stretch shorts and a t-shirt are fine. No shoes or socks are worn during
practice.
Q. What equipment do I need?
A. A good "sticky" mat is helpful, so that you can do the standing postures
without sliding. Straps and foam blocks are also helpful for some postures,
but are not necessary in the beginning for everyone. I always bring mats to
the beginning of every series, so that those who are unsure of the type of
mat will have one to use.
Q. How long is a class?
A. The adult classes are 1 hour and 1/2. The children's classes are one
hour.
